WELCOME to the Tweni Beach Lodge

Umtentweni is a small coastal resort town between the Mzimkulu River (the great home of all rivers) and the Mtentweni River (named after a species of grass that grows on its banks). It is situated in the Hibiscus Coast Local Municipality in Ugu, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is a relatively clean and quiet residential resort; it has become an attractive destination for people aiming to get away from city life. Most of the town is filled with complexes, flats, bed and breakfasts, guest lodges and suburban-style houses. 10 years ago the whole of Umtentweni comprised of a lot of greenery and wildlife. All this has changed due to the growing popularity of this small resort and the constant clearing for new housing.

The major town of Port Shepstone is on the opposite bank of the Mzimkulu River.

A luxurious, all year round, holiday awaits you at  the UmtenTweni Beach Lodge, located about 40 meters' walk from the Umtentweni main beach. The lodge boasts a 180 degrees sea-view (from the main-house verandah) of the warm Indian Ocean. Hear the waves breaking 24-hrs a day. We are 116 km's south of Durban, and in particular 4 km's north of Port Shepstone, where you will have access not only to all amenities but also to a wide range of leisure options, with popular holiday destinations like Shelly Beach, Uvongo and Margate located in a radius of less than 20 km's further south.

The main beach at Umtentweni is generally considered to be one of the safest beaches on the South Coast and also one of the most sought after, and unspoiled beaches on the entire coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Local and International visitors will be transported to and from Durban International Airport.
